Add patterns and textures to clay
Texture sheets make it easy to add an even pattern or raised surface to a sheet of clay. They can be used for backgrounds, jewelry, pendants, miniatures, decorations, fabric effects and mixed-media elements. Many patterns can be repeated beside each other, allowing makers to cover larger surfaces with a continuous design.
How to use texture sheets
First roll the clay into an even sheet and place the texture sheet with the patterned side against the surface. Press it down gently and evenly or use a roller to transfer the design. Carefully lift the sheet to reveal the impression. Transparent texture sheets make it easier to see where repeated sections of a pattern should meet.
Texture sheets are primarily used with polymer clay and can also be suitable for air-dry clay and other soft modeling materials. Remove the texture sheet before drying or baking the clay and follow the instructions supplied with the individual product.
