Sculpey Premo polymer clay
Sculpey Premo is an oven-bake polymer clay for jewellery, beads, canes, miniatures, decorations and detailed modelling projects. It combines a firm working consistency with a strong and slightly flexible result after curing.
Premo does not air-dry. Colours can therefore be blended, patterns can be built up and details can be adjusted until the creation is cured in an oven.
Polymer clay for jewellery and canes
Premo’s shape retention makes it suitable for earrings, pendants, beads and other jewellery. When creating canes and patterns, lines, colour sections and small details remain clearly visible during slicing.
When correctly formed and cured, Premo is also suitable for relatively thin components. Finish sharp edges carefully and always check the attachment of metal findings when making jewellery.
Colours, metallics and special effects
The Premo range includes basic colours, natural shades and bold colours that can be blended together. Metallic, glitter and effect colours add shine, depth and decorative patterns to a creation.
The metallic and pearl colours contain fine mica particles. This makes them suitable for techniques where direction, relief and reflected light are important, including mica shift, mokume gane and textured surfaces.
Sculpey Premo multipacks
Premo multipacks contain twelve smaller 28-gram blocks. Classic provides a selection of basic colours, while Metallic and Glitter and Mixed Effects focus on shimmering and special finishes. The sets are useful for exploring several colours and techniques without starting with full-size blocks.
Conditioning and curing Premo
Condition the clay before use until it becomes smooth and evenly workable. A pasta machine or roller can be used to make even sheets and colour blends. Use blades for straight cuts and canes, and sculpting tools for textures and fine details.
